Hummin provides a way for organizations to address emotional wellbeing and increase team engagement by creating a mobile platform that is tailored to frontline workers. Users can log emotional events with a connected button device, leave reflections ("Hums"), engage in discussions, and see how their emotional state, as well as the emotional state of the team, is trending.

For administrators, the platform has a web-based back-end portal to manage users, teams, surveys, and content of the platform. Organizations can use this system to measure engagement, distribute surveys, and obtain data on the emotional state of employees by team.

Challenge We Faced

The development of a mobile platform was a challenge due to the requirement of integrating a physical button device with Bluetooth and NFC technologies.
The creation of a user system with simple access for logging emotional incidents and the incorporation of privacy and anonymity features were challenging.
The challenge was developing a team environment of collaboration with users posting reflections and interactions, respect and communication.
The building of an advanced system of surveying for organizations to derive useful information from teams with secure data collection was challenging.
